Default Commercial Tile Roof Cleaning Orlando Florida

We cleaned this flat tile roof this morning. It's a jewelry store that was formerly a bank. The 'afters' were taken while it was still wet, so I'm going to try to get some better ones later. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to complete.

It's a busy Sunday.
Gotta switch trailers and go clean a restaurant!

How do you do it so quickly and without burning plants? I know you cant over water, but Ive been thinking that thats what is slowing us down, is trying to be too overly cautious.

Looks great by the way

Thanks guys!

Scott K.,
Yep, new pump was rockin' this one.

Scott D.,
The only place there was much landscaping on this one was across the front, but the entire building was guttered and most of it was plumbed to the parking lot. I took my wife with me since it was Sunday and she watered the plants to insure no over-spray would land on anything and then she moved the hose from downspout to downspout, so this one was extremely quick and easy.

As far as being fast otherwise, we just have a routine down. Nothing special, just extremely efficient. Everything is wet down before we tarp. The tarps are watered during the process, then rinsed off and plants watered after removing tarps when finished spraying. The ground person continues to water while I flush equipment at the trailer, put ladder away, roll up hose etc. They put the tarps away while I present the invoice. Ground person knows their role, I know mine and we just click, I guess?

One of the best things you can do is get the water flowing on downspouts before you do anything else, other than letting the homeowner know you're there.

Cool!

I gotta clean a driveway and pool deck tomorrow and a tile roof on Tuesday. Nothing scheduled after that. I need to get the Christmas lites up, anyway. I kinda hope it stays slow for a little while. It's gonna be nice to have a long weekend.

So do you tarp everything always no matter what? We were just talking about that. Normally we only tarp sensitive plants. But if we just take 10 minutes and tarp everything, I could rock and roll without worrying about overspray.

Unless there's just weeds, dirt, gravel etc., we always tarp. Even the grass gets tarped.

There are certain plants that will drop leaves whether tarped or not, such a bougainvillea. They don't die, but just go bald for a little while. We let the owners/managers know what to expect with certain plants. Ficus is another one.

I think you might be losing some time on the roof, also. I'm very comfortable up there and move faster than some, but everyone should ALWAYS work at a pace they personally feel comfortable with.

Some are worried that 'tarp burn' might be a problem. We usually pull the tarps out and leave them in a pile in the driveway and tarp in sections at a time to insure that they're only covering things as long as necessary. Most of the time we'll tarp 1/2 the property, then the other. If it's a larger property, I'll hop down and help out. If not, I find a perch and wait for the ground person to let me know when we're ready to rock again. If I'm working alone it might take me 20-30 minutes longer, but the results are the same. Just more trips up/down the ladder.
